Thanksgiving went well for all of us. We have friends staying with us for a few days, once staying at my house. She is so silent yesterday morning I really didn't expect her to still be in the home. I got up, called sister, threw some clothing on to go help cook. Thinking she had already walked down to Mom's - I walked into the kitchen/ living room to get me a drink to take my meds when she leaned forward in my recliner, leaned to the side to see me, saying hello.

I screamed, so not use to having anyone in the house. I asked her why she didn't have the TV on, her coffee made as she always did these things first thing- she is up, coffee, TV. They go together. Another reason I believed she had left the house. "I didn't want to wake you so I was just sitting here."

Ok... kind of creepy.... o.O

lol

Good food, ate way too much. Mom loved the turkey, dressing. She also loved the chocolate silk pie I made us.

Speaking of- I went home last night to make another one for Nightgame *Cat* family gathering tonight. I was going to sweep my floor, dug the broom out from beside the dryer, trip over the mop handle and down I went. On my knees, one elbow. Ouch! Still sore, knees are hurting but trying to stay moving to work out the soreness.

End up working today- till noon or a little after. Then I think a nice nap is going to happen at some point. :)

The whole Michael Brown issue has me shaking my head. While I understand cops are not always right- I also understand you can't believe when his mother tells you her son never hurt anyone.

Really? Tell that to the store clerk. Watching that video and you can see his rage, his threating actions as he backed the small man back as he tried to stop the bulky man from stealing.

Say what you want- but if I had been on the trail.... no way would I not believe this man was an angel. Now, was the cop wrong to shot him? Was he shot with his hands up? Witness who watched the event are mixed, so I could not trust either way.

Was the cop in fear for his life? His Mother's words try and make you think her son did nothing wrong, even as you watched a few minutes before the video of the force used at the store...... that right there would get me to vote that the cop did his duty.

I am glad that millons wasn't wasted on a trail myself.

There is quite a bit of it on the news here in Australia, the Brown case.

AMEN! Seriously, I love how they have tried to turn this into a race issue. I'm sorry but most of the witnesses stories were VERY conflicted, which says a lot. I don't believe the officer did anything wrong, and in the end the EVIDENCE spoke for itself. And the riots, really? Destroying public property and innocent businesses? Hurting innocent people kinda goes against what they are "supposedly" rioting about.

Every time a commercial comes on the TV, I hit fast forward on the TV remote.

Then realize it is live TV.

*Rat frowns, hits the remote*

Well house is clean, laundry done, bed made. Only thing left is a short rest then shower, put some makeup on for the meet up.

:)

I also made a pumpkin cake/ dessert. And no baked cookies. Forgot the vanilla, so they are a little dry but think they are OK. Going to make a apple dumpling dessert when we get back from going out to late lunch/ supper, what ever it will be.

In other words- I got dessert covered. lol

Nothing like having company coming over in *looks at clock* 45 minutes and your kitchen sink is stomped up. *sigh* Have spent over a hour trying using the plumger, drain stuff, hot water.

Everything else in the home is working, toilets, washer, showers, bathroom sinks. It is just something in my kitchen drain.

At least I have enough dishes/ pots to finish dinner. I will just put the few dirty dishes I had from this morning in a laundry basket, hide them in my shower, and tell everyone to not use the sink. Yeah... I can do that.

:) Nothing going to ruin my RPG/ Fun time.

Pot roast is in the oven, soft sweet fresh bread is in the bread machine. Home made mashed tatters/ honey glazed carrots is all that is left for me to cook.

Shower first tho. Time to get dressed.

Here is a tip for you on the sink, if you have a double sink, then stuff a washcloth into the unclogged drain to ensure that the plunger's pressure is focused on the clog. Also you can unclog a Kitchen Sink with Vinegar and Baking Soda. Use a bowl or a cup to bail standing water out of the sink. Pour the water into a bucket. Push 1 cup of baking soda down the sink drain. Use a spatula to force the baking soda into the opening, if necessary. Pour 1 cup of vinegar into the drain opening. Put the stopper into the sink so that the vinegar is forced toward the clog. Wait 5 minutes to allow the solution to work on the clog. Run warm water into the sink to see if the clog disappears. Pour 4 cups of boiling water down the drain if the warm water fails to work. If the sink is still clogged, then apply the baking soda and vinegar solution again. Oh, and use rubber gloves if you have them. We could never afford a plumber so my mom had a ton of home remedies.

Great friends, great food and fun who cared about a clogged drain other than the extra work it made for you, that we didn't like. Thanks for hosting us :)

Thanks for the info- trust me I tried it all. I spent about a hour on it Sunday, hot water, soda, salt, plunger, etc. It just ain't coming out. Not even a slow drain of the water. What ever it is- it isn't moving. 0.O

Yes, great fun. And we play a Vampire Role play game, an old one called Masquerade. Have for years. :)

Best steak ever! Cat told me about the sale of steaks at a local store, showed me the ones she purchased. Mmmm... so last night with the threat of sleet I came home before dark and stop, got the family steaks. Not bad- 6 for under 18 dollars.

Cooked mine tonight, using a cube of the Land Between the Lakes Sauté Express® Seasoned Meal Starter, Love these things- they combines a variety of herbs and spices with butter and olive oil to cook and flavor.

Those little cubes are sooo good, and the garlic and herb set the steak off just right.

Mmm...

And did I tell ya about the home made chocolate cake with frosting? No?... *forks the soft heaven into her mouth, closes her eyes as the taste buds dance a happy dance*... nevermind.

I have never tried those Lakes Saute meal starters. I always wondered if they were as good as they claim to be. I will have to try them now.

Thanks ladies. :) Since you can vote every 5 hours, I say one of the images has some backing by family/ friends. Either way the money goes to a charity, so who every wins the cash goes to a local charity.
